If you are near the Cherry Creek Mall in Denver, Colorado and you are looking for a vegetarian restaurant. Check out True Food Kitchen, the restaurant is only about a 5 minute walk to the Cherry Creek Mall.

Being a vegetarian for the past 4 years, I’m always on the look out for restaurants that have meatless options. When we were out and about in Denver we saw that this restaurant had really good ratings; and their menu had meat, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options as well. We knew we had to check this place out. If you are looking for a place to please everyone whether you are vegetarian and your friend is gluten-free, True Food Kitchen’s menu has plenty of dishes to pick from.
Fair warning this restaurant does not serve soda products, we don’t drink so we tend to have a diet coke as an evening pick-me-up. That was one thing that shocked us during out dining experience; they only served alcohol, tea, lemonades and water.
Michael and I ordered our drinks, he ordered a kale aid and I had the orange sencha tea. I tried a sip of his drink and it had a ton of flavor to it, towards the end of my sip it gave me a little ginger punch. My drink wasn’t too shabby, it tasted like an sparkling orange juice. I honeslty would have perferred something with a little bit of caffeine in it. But these drinks would be also great for brunch!
When it came to time to order our meals; Michael ordered the ancient grains bowl with tofu. The bowl comes with: miso sesame glazed sweet potato, tumeric, charred onion, snap pea, grilled portobello, avacado, hemp seed, cilanto pumkin seed pesto.

I had ordered their seasonal dish, the butternut squash farro risotto. The risotto comes with: roasted brussel sprouts, fennel, golden beet, mushroom, arugula, cashew, dashi broth and I added tofu to my dish. Both of our plates were 100% vegan.

Our food was absolutely fresh and delicious. Everything was seasoned really nicely and the plates weren’t too big where you felt like there would be food waste. After researching True Food Kitchen, I realized that they were a chain. It would be awesome if one came to Upstate, NY!
On our future travels around the U.S. I’ll defintely keep True Food Kitchen on my radar when we are looking for something healthy to eat.
